Duty Waiver Experience
I took my spare 32” LCD TV to Pakistan and 19,000/- PKR
custom duty was waived (No duty was paid) against my FERC card. They do the entry at the last page of
your passport that you have availed x amount of duty waiver and y amount is
remaining as per your FERC card category. They require photo-copy of your FERC
card and passport.
You can call Lahore airport customs desk for any
confirmation prior to your travel at +92-42-99240479 They gave me all information and all of this was done without any reference and I
was really happy/surprised at this good behavior. Following table can give you information about duty against the LCD/LED sizes.
Good Luck :)
HI Bilal did you ever use ferc for buying some stuff from Duty free? Can ypu please share your experience if you have how it works thanks
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, NO. I don't think so that it is possible. (I am assuming you are asking about paying for duty free item, not about custom duty on duty free item)
DeleteFrom OPF website I have found the following benefits:
DeleteThe above duty credit can be redeemed against the duty payable on:
Accompanied baggage
Unaccompanied baggage, or
Purchases from one of the duty free shops in Pakistan.
However, the said duty credit cannot be redeemed against import of vehicles.
The redemption of the duty credit shall be endorsed by the Customs Official on the Passport of the Foreign Exchange Remittance Card holder with the following details:
Which I believe is suggesting you can pay for your purchases from any duty free shops in Pakistan...
